Residential Permit Parking
Judges Hill residents (RPP Zone 7) who were eligible for permits in 2017 will be eligible for them again in 2018.

Application for permits is directly through the city now. Please visit the City of Austin RPP website:

Some pertinent information:

There are two types of yearly permits: Visitor hang-tags and resident vehicle decals. No more than two visitor hang-tags can be purchased per residence.

Permits cost $15 each, plus sales tax. Each household has a limit/max amount of permits and types of permits that can be purchased. Please check the Permit Eligibility Listing to verify how many permits/ permit types your residence can receive, prior to filling out an application.

Cost break down for permits, including sales tax:

‚Äč1 permit = $16.24
2 permits = $32.48
3 permits = $48.71
4 permits = $64.95

Scratch-off day passes are $1 each, plus sales tax. Each eligible RPP residence can purchase 20 day passes at one time. Day passes can be purchased at the time of yearly permit purchase or at any time thought out the permit year. To be eligible for day passes, a resident has to have purchased yearly permits for their residence.

How to apply for permits

In-Person Option

Fill out the application and have proof of residency information ready.

Bring application, identification card, proof of residency, and payment (exact cash, check, or credit accepted) to the Parking Enterprise Office, located at 1111 Rio Grande Street, Austin, TX 78701. Available parking is on-street paid parking only, so please be prepared to pay the meter. Where to Park.

Expect a minimum of 15 minutes, depending on volume, to complete the process to obtain your permits


Fill out the application and attach copies of proof of residency and driver’s license.
Mail application, with copies of proof of residency, driver’s license and check or money order (Checks payable to the City of Austin) to:

Please allow 7 to 10 business days, from the date your application is received, for the city to process your order and for return mail to receive your permits back. If you mail in your application with payment, please note that it will take a minimum of one week from the date the application is received for you to receive your permits. If the deadline has passed for your renewal date, it is recommended that you come to the Parking Enterprise Office to obtain permits to avoid citations for expired permits.

Digital / Email Option

Fill out the application and attach copies of proof of residency and driver’s license to

Payment can be taken over the phone with credit card once application is verified by staff or
You can come to the Parking Enterprise Office once you receive confirmation from City staff that permits are ready, in order to make a payment and pick up permits.

Once payment is received, the permits will be mailed out to the address listed on the application.
If picking up permits, Identification card is required for verification.
